Weddings

Whether you want an intimate indoor wedding or a larger outdoor ceremony, we have several different options for weddings, commitment ceremonies or vow renewals.  We provide the setting and you make the ceremony just exactly what you want it to be!

Events

The Bird House Inn at Excelsior Bay has hosted many special events over the years, including bridal showers, tea parties, anniversary parties, birthday bashes, business breakfasts and more.  We are proud to offer an elegant, yet reasonably priced option in the Lake Minnetonka area.  We know that each event is unique, and we are happy to work with you on your own personalized celebration.  Summer dates fill quickly, so we recommend calling to reserve 6-12 months in advance.

Afternoon Events/Ceremonies, Indoor – $250*

Use of our main floor common areas between 11am and 4pm (including set-up and clean-up) for up to 20 guests, then $5 per person for any guests beyond this number, up to a max capacity of about 70 people.

Afternoon Events/Ceremonies, Indoor/Outdoor – $500*

Use of both the indoor and outdoor common areas between 11am and 4pm (including set-up and clean-up) for up to 40 guests, then $5 per person beyond this number up to a max capacity of about 100 people.

Evening Events/Ceremonies – $750* + room rentals

Use of both the indoor and outdoor common areas with set-up starting no earlier than 11am and final clean-up completed no later than 11am the following day.  Price covers up to 50 guests, then $5/person beyond this number up to a max capacity of about 100 people.  For evening events, we require rental of at least the four units that connect to the common areas.  Those units can sleep up to 8 guests, with additional rooms available to sleep 14 or more, if desired.

Furnishings

Our inn is furnished with traditional living furniture which you are welcome to use.  We also have folding tables and chairs available for easy rental, or we can refer you to local rental companies for anything else you might need.  We are also happy to recommend local caterers, florists, photographers, ceremony officiants, etc.

*Cleaning/Damage Charge

We reserve the right charge $20 per hour for cleaning, plus the cost of any repairs needed to return the inn to the condition it was before your event.  Most guests choose to clean up after themselves so that no additional charge is needed.  If, however, you would like to plan on having us clean up after you, that is fine, too.  We just ask that you let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
